Description

This CEF philatelic sheet features the Farman F60 Goliath, a famous French biplane. The visible side shows a detailed illustration of the aircraft in flight, in beige, light brown, and gray tones, accompanied by a blue stamp depicting the aircraft, postmarked with a commemorative "FARMAN F60 GOLIATH - 31 TOULOUSE" stamp. The sheet also includes a reproduction of an original drawing signed at the bottom right, as well as an explanatory text about the history and technical characteristics of the Goliath.

The sheet is framed with a black border on a white background, with a neat layout typical of CEF editions. On the left, part of the support indicates "Feuillet CEF" (CEF sheet), confirming the philatelic origin of this item. The catalog number "n° 7164 du catalogue CEF" (CEF catalog no. 7164) is partially visible, as is the mention of a limited edition.

The whole highlights the historical and technical aspects of the aircraft, with a detailed technical sheet (weight, length, wingspan, engines, speed, etc.) printed at the bottom right. The main text summarizes the context of the Farman F60 Goliath's creation, its achievements, and its first air links.

The stamp features a dark blue aircraft on a blue background, with the mention "F-CAEA", typical of French civil aircraft of the era. The circular postmark adds a philatelic dimension sought after by stamp and aviation history enthusiasts.

The visible side shows no major defects: the surface of the sheet appears clean, without folds, stains, or obvious signs of wear. The colors of the drawing and the stamp are well preserved, offering an attractive and clear visual rendering. The border of the sheet is regular and well contrasted.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side is in very good general condition, with no apparent defects.

Did you know? The Farman F60 Goliath, designed in 1918, was one of the first passenger transport aircraft to provide regular connections between Paris and London as early as 1919. Its biplane architecture and its ability to transport up to 14 passengers made it a benchmark for nascent civil aviation in Europe.
