Description

This philatelic sheet, presented in a transparent plastic sleeve, is a product published by CEF (Covers Emissions Philatéliques Françaises), dedicated to "L'Entraide Strasbourg" from the Red Cross series. The visible side shows a predominantly white cardboard document, printed with an explanatory text on the history and importance of mutual aid, particularly through philately and the Red Cross. On the right, a colorful illustration depicting four black and brown birds on wires, with yellow beaks, signed by Tomi Ungerer, occupies a central place, accompanied by the mention "L'ENTRAIDE STRASBOURG" and the Red Cross symbol.

Below the illustration, a French postage stamp is affixed, reproducing the same visual of the birds, with the mentions "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE", "2,50+0,60", as well as a red "CROIX-ROUGE FRANÇAISE 1re JOUR STRASBOURG" postmark. This sheet highlights the theme of mutual aid and relief, in connection with the activities of the Red Cross in Strasbourg.

The text printed on the left details the history and actions of the Red Cross, particularly in prevention and first aid training. The sheet bears the mention "Limited Edition" at the bottom left, with the number 4688 visible, indicating a numbered edition. On the left edge, there is also the reference "N° 1110 du catalogue CEF".

The general presentation is typical of commemorative philatelic sheets, with great attention paid to the layout: framed text, original illustration, matching stamp, and first-day cancellation. The signature of Tomi Ungerer, a renowned illustrator, is indicated in the caption below the image.

This CEF sheet is aimed at enthusiasts of thematic philately, particularly those interested in Red Cross issues, Strasbourg, or the works of Tomi Ungerer. Its colorful visual and the presence of a first-day cancelled stamp make it both an educational and decorative document for a philatelic collection or for an exhibition on solidarity or postal history.
