Description

This CEF philatelic sheet commemorates the first airmail service between Nancy and Lunéville, illustrated by an original drawing by Pierre Forget. The visual composition features two iconic aircraft: a Farman biplane in flight and, in the foreground, a modern aircraft bearing the Aéropostale livery. The main colors are white, blue, yellow, and red, with carefully rendered gradients in the background. The sheet also includes a postage stamp illustrated with an aircraft, with a face value of 2.50 francs, canceled with a commemorative postmark "Liaison Postale Nancy - Lunéville".

The sheet is presented on a white cardboard backing, with a brown border surrounding the central illustration. On the left side, printed inscriptions state: "Les Feuillets des Éditions CEF" and "Réalisations de la SODOP, Puteaux", as well as the reference "N° 1104 du catalogue CEF". The inscription "Tirage limité" (Limited edition) and the individual number "678" are visible at the bottom left, indicating a numbered edition.

Part of the sheet is dedicated to an explanatory text on the history of airmail transport in France, with a focus on the 1912 mission connecting Nancy to Lunéville. The text, printed in black, remains perfectly legible and contextualizes the historical importance of this postal link.

The calligraphy "Liaison Postale Nancy - Lunéville" is handwritten at the top right, above the stamp. The round postmark features a stylized aircraft illustration and the date of the postal event. The whole is distinguished by a neat presentation, typical of CEF commemorative sheets.

The sheet has a perforation on the left, allowing it to be inserted into a specialized binder. No major defects are visible on the presented side: the surface is clean, without stains or apparent creases, and the prints are sharp.
