CEF Martyrs Heroes Resistance Suresnes 1987 philately red stamps sheet
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Official CEF philatelic sheet visible in the photo, dedicated to the "Martyrs and Heroes of the Resistance". This sheet features a neat layout, typical of CEF issues, with a detailed explanatory text on the left accompanied by a black and white reproduction of a commemorative sculpture. On the right are two red stamps, linked by a central perforation, illustrating the theme of the Resistance and honoring the national tribute paid to these historical figures.
The sheet bears a commemorative postmark from May 16, 1987, from Suresnes, clearly visible around the illustrated stamp. The central illustration was created by sculptor Georges Jeanclos, as explicitly mentioned at the bottom of the page. The printed text, in French, recounts the historical context of the French Resistance, notably citing General de Gaulle's appeal and evoking the clandestine organization, arrests, and the role of networks.
The entire sheet is framed with a dark brown border, with a rigid structure and a horizontal presentation. The stamps show a sculptural motif in relief, on a bright red background, with face values "2.50" and "4.20" francs. The limited edition number "565" is visible at the bottom left of the support, highlighting the numbered nature of this copy.
On the side of the support, the mention "Les feuillets CEF", the SO.O.D.O.P. logo, the CEF catalog reference "N° 1133", as well as information about the printer and distribution are visible. The perforation on the left side shows that this sheet was designed for storage in a specialized binder.
The visible front shows no chips, significant creases, or apparent defects in the printing or stamps. The colors remain vibrant, the inscriptions perfectly legible, and the overall presentation is clean, consistent with a philatelic presentation sheet.
