Description

This CEF philatelic sheet highlights the town of Auray, located in Brittany, through a careful and illustrated presentation. On the visible side, there is a black and white photograph of a picturesque and typical street in Auray, lined with old half-timbered and stone houses. The image is enhanced by a thin frame, adding an elegant and classic touch to the whole.

In the upper left corner of the sheet, an official stamp is affixed, accompanied by a clear postmark bearing the mention "Auray" as well as a stylized illustration of the town. This first-day postmark (visible in circular form) attests to the philatelic nature of the item, sought after for its documentary and postal value.

The sheet also features an explanatory text printed in two columns, recounting the history, architectural features, and atmosphere of the town of Auray. The characters are clear and legible, offering rich additional information about the Breton commune and its heritage.

The entire sheet is published by CEF, a reference in illustrated philatelic souvenirs in France. On the left, on the visible margin, are the mention "CEF", the catalog number 508, and the indication of a limited edition, confirming the official aspect of the document. The copy number "5404" is also printed on the lower border.

The general presentation is clean, with an off-white dominant and contrasts marked by the black of the photograph and the text. No major defects are observable on the visible side: the surface appears flat, without apparent stains or creases.
