Description

This illustrated sheet, issued by the CEF (Cercle des Émissions de France), is dedicated to typography. The visible side features an elegant layout with an explanatory text on the history of typography, in clear, legible black characters. At the top, the title "LA TYPOGRAPHIE" is highlighted with a drop shadow, evoking the effect of typographic relief.

On the right side of the sheet, a stylized contemporary illustration, signed by Raymond Gid, depicts a face profile embellished with colored touches (blue, pink) and lines evoking graphic composition grids. This work, combining modern graphic design and a tribute to typographic art, gives the whole a pedagogical and artistic aspect.

The sheet is franked with a "TYPOGRAPHIE" stamp of 5.00, marked with a first-day cover stamp "Raymond Gid - Paris". The text on the sheet details the history of typography, from Gutenberg to the great names of type engraving (Garamond, Didot, Baskerville, etc.), and mentions the Imprimerie Nationale.

In the margin, the technical mentions of the CEF, the numbering (here 3076), and the indication of a limited edition are found. The overall presentation is clean, with straight edges and a thin black border. No major defects are visible in the photographed area.

The visible side shows only one sheet, but the photographed ensemble reveals a bundle of several copies, suggesting a lot or a stock, without the exact number being specified here.

Condition

This CEF sheet is second-hand and sold as is. The visible side appears in very good condition, with no apparent folds, stains, or tears. The printing and franking are clear. The edges are regular and the numbering clearly visible.
