Description

This philatelic souvenir sheet, published by the CEF (Cercle des Émissaires Philatéliques), celebrates the Year I of the French Republic, 1792. Presented on a white cardboard card, it features a central illustration of a female allegory of the Republic, dressed in ancient style, holding a pike topped with a Phrygian cap and a lictor's fasces. The words "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE 1792" appear in red and black letters below the image, framed by a blue-white-red tricolor border.

The souvenir sheet includes a French 2.50 F postage stamp, issued for the bicentennial, canceled with a commemorative postmark "L'AN I DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE – PARIS". A detailed historical text on the birth of the French Republic occupies the right side, titled "L'AN I DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE" at the top of the page. The typography is clear and legible, suitable for display or album preservation.

On the left side, the mention "N°1103 du catalogue CEF" is visible, along with information about the limited edition. The copy number, here "59", is printed at the bottom left of the sheet. The support has two perforations for filing in a philatelic binder.

The overall condition of the souvenir sheet is visually very clean, with no apparent defects on the visible side: the white surface is neat, the visible corners and edges are intact. The printing of the text and illustrations is precise, with no visible signs of wear, alteration, or discoloration in the photo.

The illustration was created by Marie-Noëlle Goffin, as specified at the bottom right of the sheet.

Condition

Used item sold as is, in very good visual condition on the displayed side. No major defects apparent on the surface, visible corners and edges.
