Description
This philatelic sheet is a CEF (Cercle des Émissions de France) edition, dedicated to the "République type Liberté" stamp series. The visible side presents an elegant composition, integrating several cancelled stamps, each illustrating the famous feminine profile symbolizing Liberty, in different colors (green, orange, purple, pink, blue, and black). The stamps are accompanied by visible round postmarks, bearing the inscription "Liberté Paris."
On the left side of the sheet is an artistic reproduction of a bust portrait of a woman, wearing a dark red beret, in a style inspired by classical works. This illustration is signed by Pierre Gandon, renowned for his work in French philately and the creation of emblematic stamps. Below the image, a caption specifies that the illustration is the work of Pierre Gandon, famous engraver and stamp designer.
The printed section on the right details the history and symbolism of the "Liberté" type, evoking its inspiration from Eugène Delacroix's painting "Liberty Leading the People," and its importance in republican iconography. The careful layout, with a golden frame, highlights all the elements, typical of the prestigious sheets published by the CEF.
The sheet is presented in a transparent sleeve, inserted into a cardboard sheet holder page, with the inscription "CEF" visible on the left edge. The issue number "7580" appears at the bottom left, indicating a limited edition, as well as the reference to the CEF catalog (n°816), visible on the top border.
The surface of the sheet is smooth, with clear printing of texts and images. The colors are well preserved, and the stamps show clear cancellations, typical of commemorative philatelic editions. No major defects are visible on the exposed side.
Condition
Second-hand item sold as is, presented in its original sleeve. The visible side shows no noticeable stains, creases, or discoloration.
