Description

This illustrated philatelic sheet, published by CEF, highlights the "Republic Liberty Type" theme. In the center, a colored reproduction of a male portrait, signed at the bottom right, is set in an urban scene evoking a tree-lined square and Parisian buildings, with a sign indicating "Place Eugène Delacroix". The whole is framed with a golden border, emphasizing the careful presentation, typical of CEF issues.

On the right side of the sheet, three French postage stamps are affixed, each in a different shade (pink, blue, purple) and postmarked with a round dated stamp. The mention "Liberté" is clearly visible on the main stamp, as well as the face value of 2.00 F. The stamps are positioned vertically, accompanied by explanatory text printed in black alongside them.

At the bottom left, a black and white illustration details the same square viewed from another angle, with a short descriptive text. The central title "RÉPUBLIQUE TYPE LIBERTÉ" is printed in large, clearly visible black capital letters. The entire sheet rests on a large white perforated sheet, typical of CEF philatelic presentations, facilitating insertion into a collector's album.

The sheet bears on its left margin the mention of the limited edition of 35,300 copies, including 20,500 offset and 13,500 on silk, as well as the number 2081. The overall presentation is that of a quality philatelic product, intended to highlight a French thematic issue.

The texts printed on the sheet offer historical and technical context on the issuance of the "Liberté" stamp, without the whole showing any major visible defects on the photographed side. The sheet shows clean preservation, with no apparent signs of creasing, stains or alteration on the visible area.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side shows very good general preservation, with no notable defects on the illustration, stamps or margin. The filing perforations are clean.

Did you know? The "Liberté" type is an emblematic series of French stamps, designed by Gandon, and introduced from 1982 to replace the Sabine type. It was widely used on French mail in the 1980s and 1990s, symbolizing the Republic through an allegory of liberty.
