Description
This CEF (Courrier d’Entreprise à la Française) philatelic sheet honors Robert Debré (1882-1978), a major figure in French medicine and pediatrics. The presentation features an illustrated insert, integrated onto a satin-finish cardboard support. On the left side of the sheet is a commemorative stamp bearing the effigy of Robert Debré, accompanied by a special postmark dated May 15, 1982, in Sedan, marked with the monogram "RD".
The sheet includes several printed areas: at the top, detailed biographical text on Robert Debré's career, printed in black on a white background. To the right of the stamp, two illustrations are visible: the first is a handwritten quote, and the second is a drawn portrait of Robert Debré accompanied by the title "L’Honneur de Vivre" (The Honor of Living).
The whole is framed by a golden border, adding an elegant touch to the item. The sheet bears the mention "N° 835 du catalogue CEF" on the side margin, as well as an individual number at the bottom left (here: 10651), indicating a limited edition. It is specified that 13,500 sheets were produced on silk, a sought-after feature in thematic philately and CEF editions.
The overall presentation is typical of commemorative sheets issued for French philately, with clear printing, legible text, and a harmonious composition between illustration, text, and stamp.
The note at the bottom of the page indicates that Marie Noëlle Goffin, a painter and engraver and professor at the Beaux-Arts de Lille, designed the stamp and the illustration for the sheet.
