Description

This philatelic souvenir sheet, published by CEF (Carterie Édition France), highlights the Saint-Germain-de-Livet manor house located in the Calvados department. On the visible side, a detailed illustration of the château by artist Claude Haley is distinguishable. The drawing emphasizes the bluish conical-roofed towers, the checkerboard walls of stone and brick typical of Norman architecture, and a body of water partially reflecting the building.

To the right of the main illustration, a printed text recounts the history and peculiarities of the manor, offering cultural and heritage context to this emblematic site of the Pays d'Auge. The text, in French, is perfectly legible and highlights the architectural richness and history of the place, particularly its connection with the Tournebu family and its current ownership by the city of Lisieux.

The sheet also includes an illustrated stamp, depicting the manor, as well as a special postmark "St Germain de Livet Calvados," dated and adorned with a drawing of the château. The postmark and stamp are integrated into the graphic composition of the sheet, enhancing the philatelic interest of this item.

In the bottom left, the mention "Claude Haley artist painter created the stamp and signs the illustration of the sheet" attests to the artistic authenticity of the whole. In the margin, the printed reference "5836" is found, typical of CEF editions, as well as indications on the series and edition.

The sheet has a rectangular format, with a fine border and quality printing, faithful to CEF productions intended for enthusiasts of thematic philately and French regional heritage.
