Description

CEF (French Issuing Coast) commemorative sheet dedicated to UNESCO, issued in 1984. This sheet features three major World Heritage sites: Lalibela (Ethiopia), Sana'a (North Yemen), and Kotor (Montenegro). The visible side displays a central illustration by artist René Quillivic, depicting one of the honored historical monuments, in brown and ochre tones.

On the left side, three postage stamps are affixed, each dedicated to a site. They are canceled with a round blue stamp "PREMIER JOUR UNESCO 20 OCT. 1984 PARIS" (FIRST DAY UNESCO OCT. 20, 1984 PARIS), certifying their issuance on the official first day. The stamps show detailed architectural views of each site, with "UNESCO" markings and visible face values (1.90, 2.10, 3.00).

The sheet is framed with a golden border and the word "UNESCO" is printed vertically on the right. A descriptive text accompanies each site, in French, detailing the history and patrimonial importance of Lalibela, Sana'a, and Kotor. The typography is fine and neat, typical of CEF philatelic sheets from the 1980s.

The left side margin bears the mentions "Feuille CEF" (CEF Sheet) and "N° 766 du catalogue CEF" (No. 766 of the CEF catalog), as well as the copy number "3422" printed at the bottom left. Two filing perforations are visible on the left side, indicating a presentation suitable for philatelic binders.

The illustration is signed "Quillivic" at the bottom left of the main image. The overall condition of the sheet appears clean, with no visible tears or folds on the presented side. The colors are clear, and the texts and cancellations are easily legible.
