Description

This philatelic sheet published by CEF (Covers Éditions Philatéliques) honors the town of Concarneau, Brittany. On the visible side, a montage composed of a color illustration depicting the Walled City and its famous gate under a cloudy sky, a work by Claude Haley, a painter and creator of the associated stamp, is visible. The scene is finely framed, with detailed reflections on the water, typical of the artist's style.

To the right of the illustration is an explanatory printed text, presenting the history and specificities of Concarneau, as well as a commemorative postmark. The adjoining postage stamp, with a face value of 3.00 francs, bears the inscription "République Française" and features the city's architectural motif, accompanied by a first-day postmark dated June 21st in Concarneau.

The sheet features a neat layout, with a thin border and black text on an off-white background. In the upper left, we find the inscription "CEF" and catalog number 688, as well as mentions relating to the limited edition and official publication. The sheet is perforated on the left side for easy archiving in a specialized binder.

The inscription specifies that the illustration was entrusted to Claude Haley, renowned for his philatelic creations. No other decorative elements are visible on the displayed side, highlighting the printing quality and the legibility of the historical and postal information.

The main colors are soft tones: grey, beige, blue-green, and black for the texts and postmark. The overall appearance is in very good condition, with no major visible defects on the displayed surface.
