This illustrated philatelic sheet is dedicated to François Arago, a prominent figure in French science and politics. On the front, the item features a color portrait of François Arago, created by René Quillivic, with the artist's printed signature. The portrait is highlighted by a blue background and golden stars, evoking the Cygnus constellation, in reference to his scientific work.

The sheet also includes a blue postage stamp featuring François Arago, franked with a "First Day" postmark dated February 22, 1986, from Estagel. The stamp is integrated into the graphic composition and bears the inscription "1786-1853 François Arago." The entire piece is enclosed in a perforated plastic sleeve, typical of CEF philatelic presentations, suitable for binder storage.
