This philatelic sheet issued by CEF (Connaissance et Étude de la Philatélie) features a series of six French stamps on the theme of letters and mail. The sheet is rectangular, inserted into a three-hole punched plastic archival sleeve, typical of CEF editions. On the left, six illustrated vertical stamps are visible, each cancelled with a legible round postmark bearing the inscription "Premier Jour" (First Day) and the date January 13, 1996, in Paris. The stamps feature varied and colorful illustrations depicting different stages or symbols of the letter, with dominant hues of red, yellow, blue, pink, and green.

In the center, a large illustration depicts an envelope decorated with a burgundy ribbon, placed on a blue background with pink flowers, evoking correspondence and epistolary exchange.
