Description

Illustrated philatelic sheet published by CEF (Centrale d’Édition Philatélique Française), dedicated to La Tour d'Auvergne (1743-1800). The visible side features a stylized color portrait of Théophile Malo Corret de La Tour d’Auvergne, created by the painter-engraver Jacques Jubert, whose signature is printed at the bottom of the drawing. This sheet is distinguished by its meticulous layout, with a large illustration on the left and a detailed biographical note on the right, printed in black on a white background.

At the bottom right, a 2.50 franc postage stamp bearing the effigy of La Tour d’Auvergne is affixed, accompanied by a first-day cancellation mark with the inscription "POUR LA TOUR D’AUVERGNE 1743-1800 / 29 CHAMAX PLOUGUERNÉAU". The sheet is mounted on a white embossed cardboard sheet, typical of CEF editions, with three perforations on the left side for archiving.

The ensemble features vibrant colors: portrait in blue and yellow, brown frame, black text. The main inscriptions are legible and the sheet number, 1092, is printed at the bottom left. The issue is limited, with a stated print run of 13,800 copies, including 13,800 on offset paper and 13,800 on silk paper, according to the side indication.
