Description

This CEF philatelic sheet, titled "LE RENARD" (The Fox), features a carefully designed layout combining stamps, artistic illustration, and explanatory text. On the left, two French stamps, each valued at 4.00 francs and issued on June 18, 1988, are affixed. Each stamp is accompanied by a "First Day" cancellation mark stating "Histoire Naturelle - Le Renard" (Natural History - The Fox). The stamps depict a black and white animal scene, with a stylized fox and the inscription "République Française."

On the right side, a large color illustration signed "C. Haley" shows a fox in its natural habitat, in an undergrowth of green and brown tones. The animal, depicted in profile, is distinguished by its reddish fur, erect ears, and attentive posture. The background evokes a forest against a clear sky, reinforcing the naturalistic aspect of the composition.

The center of the sheet is occupied by text printed in French, detailing the history, symbolism, and some biological characteristics of the fox. The entire piece is presented on white cardboard with a fine border, featuring clear and legible printing. In the upper left corner, the reference "N° 913 du catalogue CEF" is visible.

The visible part of the sheet shows perforations on the left, typical of CEF editions, as well as a numbering "6116" at the bottom, indicating a limited print run. The entire item is presented flat, with excellent legibility of the graphic and textual elements.

The item is distinguished by the quality of its illustration, the fine printing of the stamps, and the characteristic layout of CEF sheets from the late 1980s. This sheet is ideal for thematic philately, particularly concerning wildlife or animal illustration.

This CEF sheet is used and sold as is. The visible side appears to be in good overall condition, with no major apparent defects in the photo.
