Description

This official philatelic sheet illustrates the "Marianne du Bicentenaire", a French commemorative issue published in 1992. On the visible side, there is a large stylized illustration of the famous 2.20 F pink stamp, designed by Louis Briat, graphic designer and professor at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The image features the iconic visual of Marianne, a republican symbol, framed by a border evoking the perforation of a postage stamp. The presentation favors a clean design, dominated by bright pink, enhanced by a circular tricolor motif in the upper right corner.

In the lower right corner, an original postage stamp identical to the main illustration is affixed, accompanied by a special postmark dated 14.09.1992 in Paris, bearing the mention "Marianne". This circular postmark features the stylized portrait of Marianne, ensuring the authenticity and philatelic value of the whole. The whole is presented on a white cardboard support, framed by a brown line, typical of official CEF sheets.

On the left side, inscriptions indicate the provenance: "N° 1089 of the CEF catalog" and the mention "Limited edition" with the individual number 5184, attesting to a restricted quantity edition. The explanatory text on the right details the circumstances of the stamp's issue, linked to the modification of postal rates as of August 10, 1992, and specifies the absence of a "First Day" postmark in favor of a special postmark. The sheet highlights the historical aspect and the postal context of this issue.

The visible surface shows no noticeable wear, tear or stain. The colors are well preserved, the stamp and the postmark are clear and legible, which enhances the object for display or storage in a specialized album.
