Description

This official CEF philatelic sheet commemorates the Grande Chartreuse Monastery on the occasion of its 900th anniversary (1084-1984). The visible side features a detailed dark green illustration of the monastery, signed by Jacques Jubert, painter-engraver, accompanied by a large stylized tree motif composed of printed text. The whole is framed by a golden border, adding an elegant touch to the composition.

The sheet includes a French 1.70 franc postage stamp, depicting the monastery, canceled with a First Day postmark dated September 1, 1984, and mentioning "Chartreuse - Isère". The inscription "Monastère de La Grande Chartreuse 1084-1984" is perfectly legible in the upper left of the card.

In the margin, the sheet bears the indication "N° 733 du catalogue CEF" as well as the mention of a limited official edition. The individual number "11307" is visible in the lower left. The printing on white paper offers a marked contrast with the deep green illustrations and black text.

The sheet is presented in a plastic sleeve, with lateral perforations for filing, typical of CEF (Courrier d'Entreprise de France) editions. The print quality highlights the architectural details of the monastery as well as the tree, composed of finely arranged words.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The sheet shows good overall preservation, with no visible defects on the exposed side. The protective sleeve and perforations are intact. Note: only the elements visible in the photo are described.
