Description

This official CEF philatelic sheet features a full-color illustration of the Roman Theatre of Carthage. On the left side, a drawing signed by R. Coatantiec highlights a Roman figure in the foreground, in front of the theater's stands, with a background of hills and vegetation. The upper part of the sheet features the printed title "U.N.E.S.C.O.".

On the right side, three French postage stamps are affixed, each canceled with a round blue "UNESCO Premier Jour Paris 26 OCT. 1985" postmark. The stamps display architectural and heritage visuals, related to UNESCO World Heritage sites. The first stamp is on the theme of UNESCO, the second represents a historical site, and the third a monument or architectural decor, all numbered 1.80 and 2.20 francs respectively.

The sheet also includes printed text detailing three heritage sites: the Roman Theatre of Carthage, the Old Square of Havana in Cuba, and Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. This information is presented in columns, to the right of the main illustration.

The sheet is inserted in a transparent plastic sleeve with lateral perforations, typical of CEF editions for binder storage. In the bottom left corner is the catalog number 3034, and at the top is the mention "N° 791 du catalogue CEF".

The overall presentation is neat, with clear prints, well-preserved colors and a composition typical of First Day commemorative sheets. The artist's signature, Raymond Coatantiec, appears under the main illustration.
