Description

This piece depicts a bird figurine made of ceramic with a speckled beige finish, typical of Mexican "Folk Art." The rounded modeling, without an apparent base, highlights a stylized and naive silhouette, with a tilted head and a short beak. The entire visible surface features a hand-painted decor composed of stylized plant motifs, applied in dark green, navy blue, and brown, which elegantly contrast with the light hue of the ceramic. The large, expressive eye is accentuated by a deep blue circle, while the stylized plumage on the right flank evokes a floral pattern, in the tradition of Mexican pottery from the 1980s.

The texture is granular and matte over most of the surface, with glazed areas feeling glossy, particularly in the painted motifs. The details of the decor, applied with a brush, attest to artisanal work: each visible brushstroke recalls manual manufacturing. The compact and rounded general shape is perfectly suited for display on a shelf or in a showcase.

The naive style of the object, combined with the natural color palette, corresponds to the aesthetic of 1980s Mexican Folk Art, characterized by simplified animal forms and floral or plant ornaments. No visible markings or signature on the photographed side. The underside and back are not visible in the image and therefore cannot be described.
