Description
This figurine depicts a stylized bird, made of hand-painted ceramic, in keeping with the tradition of Mexican folk art. The piece features a rounded, sleek shape, with a short, upturned beak and a wide, slightly pointed tail. The main surface of the figurine is speckled cream, enhanced with floral and scroll motifs in blue, green, and brown. The eye is rendered as a large black circle outlined in white, highlighting the naive style characteristic of Mexican popular art.

The visible decoration on the side features a central dark blue motif, surrounded by green plant accents and brown lines, likely applied with a brush. A similar motif highlights the head and the base of the neck, accentuating the handcrafted nature of the piece. The ceramic texture reveals a slight grain, typical of artisanal productions from the region.

The figurine is photographed from a three-quarter angle, clearly showing the right flank, the top of the head, and part of the back. The colors display beautiful intensity, with some natural variations due to the hand-painting technique. No chips or cracks are visible on the exposed side. The matte patina of the varnish highlights the object's age.

This piece fits perfectly into the Mexican folk art movement of the 80s, both in its form and in its stylized floral decor and its palette of earthy and contrasting colors. The absence of a visible mark on the presented side is consistent with artisanal creations of this period.

Condition
Used item, sold as is. The visible side shows no major defects, chips, or apparent damage. Some discreet signs of use and a uniform patina attest to its vintage authenticity.
