AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This figurine depicts the character of Harlock (Albator), identifiable by his black outfit adorned with a skull and crossbones motif on the torso, characteristic of the famous space pirate. The model presented here is a flexible figurine with a matte finish, featuring clearly flexible arms, legs, and torso, allowing for various poses. The legs and boots are black, while the white trousers show numerous signs of wear, typical of toys from the 1970s. The arms, painted black with dark brown gloves, are also articulated. The face, although partially faded by time, reveals the medium-length brown hair styled to the side, as well as the stylized features of the Harlock character.
The figurine holds in its right hand what appears to be a futuristic-style pistol, molded in one piece with the hand, a detail immediately recognizable by fans of merchandise from the series. The torso is decorated with emblems painted in white, including the famous central skull, and the belt features a visible buckle. The entire piece shows significant patination from use, with areas of missing paint, particularly on the trousers and face, reinforcing its vintage and authentic character.
The figurine's posture, slightly tilted forward, highlights the flexibility of the material, which allows for various manipulations. Its flexible and articulated appearance is typical of 1970s toys, before the widespread appearance of rigid models. The object has no visible inscriptions or marks on the front, but the graphic style and colors are faithful to the Harlock universe.
The main visible colors are black, off-white, and brown, with patinated paint effects that indicate past use. The high boots, molded in one piece with the legs, recall the character's original design in the animated series. The weapon, attached to the hand, is also painted black, with no additional details on the visible side.
The figurine is photographed standing, leaning against a wooden cabinet, which allows for observation of the entire front face and part of the left profile. No detachable accessories are visible in this view.
