Vintage Hanimex Flash for Film Camera with Retro Case
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Electronic flash for a film camera from the Hanimex brand, presented here with its matching rigid case. The rectangular flash has a black front panel with several sliders, buttons, and indicator lights. Visible inscriptions on the top part indicate "ZOOM SELECTION W1 35mm" as well as different focal length settings (TELE, STAND, WIDE1, WIDE2). The front panel also features mentions such as "POWER", "AUTO CHECK", "READY", and "MACRO", accompanied by control lights, a distance slider (in meters and feet), and an ISO/DIN conversion table for use with different types of film.
The flash features mode selection buttons (AUTO, MAN, TTL), and a module identified as "MODULE HN2" with the inscription "Made in Hong Kong". The fastening wheel, visible at the bottom, allows the flash to be mounted on a film camera's hot shoe. The general design, typography, and presence of manual settings are characteristic of a model typical of the 1980s to early 1990s, a period during which such external flashes were commonly used with film SLRs and compact cameras.
The black rigid case, marked "HANIMEX" in silver letters on the visible side, is adapted to the shape of the flash and appears to have a side zipper closure (not visible in the photo, but typical for this type of accessory). The surface of the case shows some visible signs of wear in the photo, such as light scratches and superficial marks, without major alteration to the structure.
The inscriptions, colored sliders, and indicator lights on the flash are clear and legible, attesting to the good preservation of the markings. No additional cables or accessories are visible in the image. The set offers a retro aesthetic, characterized by the combination of matte black plastic and colorful details on the controls.
