Description

This antique animal tooth fragment is offered as-is, ideal for a cabinet of curiosities or a taxidermy collection. The piece presented is a tooth fragment, clearly from a large mammal, recognizable by its distinct striations and its elongated, curved shape. The visible surface shows an alternation of ridges and furrows, typical of flat grinding teeth, with a color gradient ranging from light beige to darker brownish shades on the edges.

The visible details show natural wear, with areas polished by time and others more matte, attesting to authentic aging. The fragment has several superficial cracks, as well as a more irregular end, probably from an old break. The overall texture is hard and dense, with a mineralized appearance characteristic of old taxidermy pieces.

The upper side shows five distinct main reliefs, while the base shows an irregular cross-section. No markings, inscriptions, or precise species identification are visible on the photographed part. The state of preservation highlights the natural patina, appreciated in the world of cabinets of curiosities.

The piece is shown on a dark wooden background that contrasts with the ivory tones of the fragment. No stand or support is visible; the object is placed freely for the photo. No other accessories are included.

This type of ancient animal tooth makes an unusual decorative object, sought after in naturalistic decor, for historical staging or scientific collections.
