Description

This antique military braid is a chevron-embroidered patch, typical of seniority or rank insignia worn on military uniforms. The piece is in the shape of an inverted "V", with a wide base and two tapered branches. The central motif consists of a gold braid with copper highlights, bordered on each side by a deep red trim. The whole is applied to a black textile backing, the contours of which are cut following the shape of the chevron.

The central embroidery shows marked relief and a complex woven pattern, evoking traditional techniques used for army insignia in the 20th century. The gold and red threads provide a sharp contrast with the dark background, accentuating the visibility of the braid on a uniform.
