Description

This old eraser, probably from the 50s or 60s judging by its design and the keywords mentioned, has an irregular and intentionally whimsical shape. It is bright yellow, with an irregular surface typical of molded erasers from that era. On the visible side, a flat part is decorated with a stylized black drawn face, featuring large round eyes, a smiling mouth, and a polka-dot bow in its hair, giving it a retro and playful look. The contrast between the matte yellow surface and the black drawing accentuates the graphic effect, very emblematic of mid-20th century novelty stationery items.

The eraser has a shape reminiscent of a stylized head or a fruit, with intentionally irregular contours and a slightly bumpy texture. The face motif is well preserved, with no noticeable fading of the lines, and the decorative bow in the hair adds a childish touch characteristic of vintage office items intended for schoolchildren. The item is placed on a wooden table, in a warm atmosphere evoking a reading room or an old office.

The bright yellow color is typical of office accessories from the 50s/60s, a period when school supplies often adopted vivid tones to attract attention. The style of the drawing, with its bold lines and large eyes, recalls the graphic codes of advertising illustrations or toys from that era, reinforcing the retro aspect of the object.

The visible relief on the eraser, as well as the intentionally asymmetrical cut, indicate artisan or semi-industrial manufacturing, common in post-war stationery accessories. This type of novelty eraser was frequently given to children or used as a small desk decoration.

The visible side does not feature any brand logo or inscription other than the face drawing. No details of the reverse side or non-visible sides are described, in accordance with the view provided.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Some signs of wear and small marks are visible, particularly on the prominent parts, consistent with its age and potential use. The drawing remains clear and legible.

Did you know? Novelty erasers with patterns appeared massively in the 50s/60s, often produced in Europe and Japan. Their original design aimed to make school accessories more attractive, at a time when personalization of materials was becoming a selling point for children and parents.
