Description

An old natural rubber eraser, typical of 1950s/60s school supplies. The object presented here has an original stylized foot shape, with a bright blue finish. The visible side is adorned with a black drawing representing an expressive face: large eyes, a drawn mouth, and a polka-dot bow at the top, suggesting a childish or whimsical style very popular in playful school supplies of that era.

The eraser has a clean cut, with rounded edges, true to the silhouette of a foot, including the curve of the toes. The printed design is well-centered, revealing the details of the face and bow, with no smudges or excessive wear visible on the illustrated area. The blue of the rubber is uniform on the exposed surface, with a slight matte patina that attests to moderate use or prolonged storage in good condition.

The face motif, rendered in black print, brings a retro and humorous touch to the object, reminiscent of the mascots and stylized characters of mid-20th century school supplies. The eraser shows no apparent marks on the visible side (no discernible logo or manufacturer's inscription).

A hole is visible on the right side (front view), probably intended to facilitate gripping or hanging. No major defects, chips, or traces of excessive wear are observable on the shown part, apart from a few slight superficial marks related to age.

This type of novelty eraser, made of natural rubber, was frequently used in primary schools and appreciated for its flexibility and effectiveness on graphite pencil. The foot shape and smiling face make it both a decorative accessory and a writing tool, typical of the vintage aesthetic of period supplies.
