Description

This piece is an antique engraving depicting a natural landscape, centered on sculpted rocks in the Oued-Telâgli valley. The work, created after a drawing by Fremaud, shows a detailed panoramic scene, highlighting imposing rock formations, scattered trees, and several figures in traditional attire, including one seated in the foreground and another with an animal in the middle ground. The whole is rendered in a monochrome palette, typical of paper engravings, with precise rendering of reliefs and natural textures.

The engraving is mounted on a thick white passe-partout, the edges of which show some visible signs of wear, including a stain in the lower left corner. The cardboard mounting highlights the subject and provides an elegant presentation, ready to be framed or displayed as is. The central image is framed with a double line, emphasizing the refined graphics of the scene.

The inscriptions visible beneath the engraving specify: "Vue générale des rochers sculptés dans le Oued-Telâgli – Dessin de Fremaud." One can also distinguish the printed signatures "J.
