Description

Original ink and blue wash illustration, signed "A. Mick" in the lower right, depicting a humorous and satirical scene. The composition features a woman in period attire, perched on stilts, observing a man lying on the ground beneath a tree. The entire piece is rendered on white paper with a singular cut, forming a very distinct right angle in the upper right portion. The drawing is enhanced with blue wash to emphasize the clothing and certain elements of the decor, lending a colorful and dynamic touch to the whole.

The graphic style evokes illustrations from the first half of the 20th century, with expressive lines and bold outlines. The characters are sketched with humor and caricature, typical of satirical scenes from that period. The setting, consisting of a tree and grassy ground, is treated in a stylized manner, giving prominence to the main scene.

The sheet shows irregular edges, particularly on the upper part, and some visible creases, indicating previous handling or storage. The black ink and blue wash are well-preserved, with slight signs of wear on the paper surface. The signature "A. Mick" is clearly legible in the lower right, attesting to the authenticity of the work.

The composition adopts a vertical layout, with the female figure occupying the left and upper part of the sheet, while the man is placed horizontally on the ground. The whole illustrates a genre scene that is both ironic and light-hearted, characteristic of humorous drawings of the era.

The technique used, combining ink and wash, creates subtle contrasts and adds depth to the scene. The use of blue accentuates the retro character of the illustration and echoes the graphic codes used in satirical press and illustrated newspapers of the 20th century.
