Description

The journal shown in the photo is an old copy of "Lisette," a French weekly publication dedicated to young girls. The cover features a polychrome illustration, typical of the 1930s aesthetic, depicting two female characters in historical attire, in a well-kept interior. The title "Lisette" appears in white cursive letters on a blue-green background, accompanied by stylized floral ornaments on either side.

In the upper left corner, we can see the mention "N° 34 – Quatorzième année (688e livraison)" (No. 34 – Fourteenth year (688th issue)) as well as the precise publication date: "Dimanche 26 août 1934" (Sunday, August 26, 1934). The yellow box indicates that the journal contains "16 Pages" and was sold at the price of "25 Centimes." The upper part also mentions "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Journal), clearly positioning the editorial target and identity of the publication.

The central illustration, signed "MAITREJEAN," shows two young women dressed in period costumes, one offering the other a purse, on the theme "L’AUMÔNIÈRE DE SOIE" (The Silk Purse) (subtitle at the bottom of the page). The dominant colors are green, ochre, blue, and some pastel shades, printed on paper yellowed by time. An interior decor with a carved wooden door and a table covered with a patterned tablecloth completes the scene.

The paper has a consistent patina, typical of publications from this period, with slightly browned edges and some visible creases in the lower margin. No major missing parts or tears are visible on the front. The inscriptions, titles, and details are clear and legible.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible cover shows age-related yellowing, slightly creased corners and edges, but overall remains in good condition for a periodical from 1934.
