Description

This issue of the illustrated magazine Lisette, dated Sunday, December 30, 1934, is a weekly newspaper intended for young girls. The cover features the iconic title "Lisette" in blue and white on an oval background, accompanied by two stylized roses. The yellow box on the right indicates a price of 25 centimes and states that the newspaper has 16 pages. The issue presented is No. 52 of its fourteenth year of publication, corresponding to the 703rd installment of this periodical.

The cover features a color illustration depicting a domestic scene, where a woman and a little girl interact in a room furnished with everyday items: a large jar, open books, a basket, a child's trolley, and various household objects. The image is typical of the narrative and graphic style of the 1930s, with a soft palette and clear outlines. At the bottom of the page is the mention "L’Enveloppe de cuir fauve (Suite.)" (The Tawny Leather Envelope (Continued.)), indicating the continuation of a serialized story inside the newspaper.

The top banner specifies "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper) and indicates the publisher's address in Paris. On the left, a yellow box highlights the periodicity "16 Pages - Parait chaque semaine" (16 Pages - Published weekly). The layout, typography, and chromolithography are characteristic of French youth press from the interwar period.

The spine and edges of the newspaper show a uniform patina, typical of old papers: the paper has yellowed with time, and there are a few small tears and creases on the corners, particularly at the bottom. No details of the back or inside pages are visible in this photo.
