Description

This old newspaper is a copy of the girls' periodical "Lisette", issue 11, dated Sunday, March 18, 1934. The cover features the distinctive title "Lisette" in blue on a cream background, accompanied by a stylized rose, typical of the magazine's graphic charter at that time. The inscription "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper) is clearly legible below the banner, clearly indicating the magazine's editorial target.

The main visual on the front page is a polychrome illustration depicting a young woman, lying on the stone floor of a room, illustrating the beginning of the story "Poucette et ses sœurs" (Thumbelina and her sisters). The dominant colors are red, black, and beige, with sharp outlines and a black frame. The scene is characteristic of comic strips and illustrated stories of the 1930s, with an expressive and narrative graphic style.

In the upper left corner, the mention "16 pages" is visible, as well as the original price of 25 centimes, typical elements of popular publications of the interwar period. In the upper right corner, the precise date and edition number are clearly indicated: "Sunday, March 18, 1934", "N° 11 - Fourteenth year". The publishing information (offices in Paris, 4 rue Gazan) is also printed.

The paper has a slightly yellowed cream tint, with visible signs of wear on the edges, notably a marked lower right corner and a slight antique patina on the margins. No major missing parts or tears are apparent on the visible side. The binding appears original and the cover remains well attached.

The style of the illustration, the lettering, and the layout are typical of French youth press of the 1930s, with a retro aesthetic that will appeal to lovers of old illustrated newspapers and vintage comic strips.
