Description

This issue of the newspaper "Lisette", dated Sunday, January 14, 1934, is an authentic copy of the French weekly youth press from the early 20th century. The visible cover features a period polychrome illustration depicting several children in a bourgeois interior, waving a paper fan in front of a fireplace, watched by an adult. The front-page title, "L’éventail de papier" (The Paper Fan), is inscribed at the bottom of the page, with a mention of the corresponding story on page 16.

The "Lisette" logo is clearly visible at the top, on a blue background surrounded by two stylized roses, accompanied by the mention "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper). This issue No. 2 of the fourteenth year comprises 16 pages, as indicated in the yellow box on the left. The period price, "25 centimes," appears in a similar box on the right. The precise date, "dimanche 14 janvier 1934" (Sunday, January 14, 1934), is clearly printed in the upper right, attesting to the document's age.

The layout and graphic style are typical of the 1930s, with vivid color printing on paper yellowed by time. The edges of the newspaper show slight browning and some signs of wear, characteristic of unbound printed documents from this era. The lettering and editorial boxes are true to the youth typography of the interwar period, enhancing the vintage charm of this copy.

The newspaper is presented closed, with only the front cover visible. No information is inferred about the condition of the inner pages or the spine, as per what is shown in the photo. The top corners are slightly blunted, and the edge shows a discreet patina of use.

The scene illustrated on the cover, signed "Jean," demonstrates the pedagogical and playful interest of the magazine, aimed at a young female audience. The main colors of the cover are beige, blue, red, and green, with a well-preserved contrast despite the age of the paper.

Condition

Used item, sold as is with visible traces of time on the cover (yellowing, slightly worn edges, blunted corners).
