Description

This old issue of the "Lisette" newspaper, dated Sunday, May 26, 1935, is an authentic testament to illustrated youth press from the interwar period. On the cover, the title "Lisette" appears in white cursive letters on a blue background, framed by two stylized red roses. This weekly magazine, specifically subtitled "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), is distinguished by its colorful and neat presentation, typical of the press for young female readers of the time.

The front cover features a color illustration depicting two young girls in a bourgeois interior: one, wearing a yellow dress, holds a large fabric adorned with pink floral patterns and fringes, while the other, in a green dress, observes her. The setting highlights a tufted bed, a patterned armchair, a table, and books, evoking a refined 1930s family environment. The scene is signed "Levesque" at the bottom left of the illustration.

In the header, several details are clearly visible: the mention "N° 21 – Fifteenth year (724th issue)", the price displayed as "25 centimes", as well as the indication "16 pages". The newspaper is published weekly, as specified under the main title. The office address is indicated: "1, rue Gazan, Paris (XIVe)".

The bottom of the cover features the title of this issue's main story: "J’AI CHOISI" (I HAVE CHOSEN), as well as a note inviting readers to continue on pages 8 and 9. The typography, colors, and graphic style are typical of illustrated children's press from the early 20th century.

The overall condition shows visible signs of age-related wear: presence of brown stains, slightly dog-eared corners, and handling marks on the cover. The top edge has a small fold. The whole remains legible and the illustration retains its original colors, although softened by time.
