This lot is for an original copy of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, issue number 95, dated Monday, September 11, 1972, originally sold for 2 francs. The visible cover features a striking illustration by cartoonist Gébé, with a typical 1970s graphic layout, combining orange-yellow and black flat colors on an off-white background. The prominent headline, in very visible capital letters, immediately challenges: "For Heads of State A HOSTAGE, IT'S BULLSHIT," accompanied by a speech bubble "SHOOT INTO THE CROWD!"

The drawing occupies most of the page with, in the foreground, a stylized hand pulling a black tie, against a background of hatched brown and yellow texture. The signature "Gébé" is clearly identifiable at the bottom left of the illustration.
