Description

This old issue of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo is clearly visible in the photo, with a striking cover featuring the title's typical 1970s graphics. It is issue number 97, dated Monday, August 21, 1972, as indicated at the top. The "CHARLIE HEBDO" masthead is printed in large black letters on a white background, making it instantly recognizable.

The cover features an original drawing by Reiser, an iconic cartoonist for the newspaper, depicting three stylized, massive characters, the central one wearing five Olympic rings on his chest. The vibrant blue background covers most of the cover, contrasting with the off-white paper and the black outline of the drawing. The inscription "SPORTIFS = SS" in white capital letters on the blue background immediately draws attention and reflects the provocative tone of the newspaper at the time.

The newspaper's format appears wide, typical of 1970s print media, with a visible horizontal fold at the bottom. The paper has a slightly yellowed appearance, characteristic of the natural aging of old newspapers, but the readability of the texts and drawing remains good. The edges of the cover show some signs of wear, including a slightly dog-eared top right corner and a discreet tear.

The central visual occupies almost the entire front page, accentuating the satirical impact of the drawing. Reiser's signature is clearly visible at the bottom right, confirming the authenticity of the graphic style specific to the early issues of Charlie Hebdo.

The presentation in the photo reveals a bright interior, without, however, showing the internal content of the newspaper or its back, in accordance with the strict visibility of the front face.
