Description

This document is an original copy of the French academic journal Conferencia, edited under the direction of Yvonne Sarcey. It is issue number 16, dated August 1, 1921 (15th year, 1920-1921), as indicated on the cover. The journal features a cream-colored soft cover, printed in blue, typical of intellectual press from the interwar period. A medallion portrait of Gustave Flaubert occupies the center of the page, accompanied by several article and conference titles announced in the summary.

The main title "CONFERENCIA – Journal de l’Université des Annales" is clearly legible at the top of the page. The inscriptions detail the issue's program: conferences on Flaubert, romantic sensibility in Schumann and Fauré, as well as texts by Paul Souday, Paul Fort, Gaston Rageot, and Christiane de Thray. The original price "Le N° 1 Franc" appears at the bottom, as does the publisher's address in Paris (5, rue La-Bruyère).

Visually, the journal has a dense layout, characteristic of academic and literary publications of the early 20th century. The paper shows signs of age, with slight handling marks and a visible patina on the edges, but no major tears apparent on the visible side. The blue print on a cream background is typical of the period, and the typographical style evokes the aesthetic of the 1920s.

This issue is notable for its historical and documentary interest, particularly for French literature and the intellectual life of the era. References to Flaubert, Schumann, and Gabriel Fauré, as well as the contributions of several literary figures, enhance the heritage value of this journal.

The journal's format is that of a stapled, unbound review, with a soft cover and a presentation typical of French academic periodicals from before the war. No details are visible on the spine or interior, in accordance with the only view available.

Condition
