Description

This listing is for a vintage radio tube, of the electronic tube type, from the brand GENERAL ELECTRIC, model Radiotron. The item is presented with its original box, recognizable by its blue and orange graphic design, adorned with star and constellation motifs. On the main face of the box, the inscription "GENERAL ELECTRIC RADIOTRON" appears in capital letters, accompanied by the brand's logo. This packaging reflects a typical mid-20th-century style, often associated with vintage electronic components.

The tube visible to the right of the box has a transparent glass envelope, revealing the internal structure: grid, anode, and metal supports. The black base features the inscription "GENERAL ELECTRIC RADIOTRON" followed by "LICENSED BY THERMIONICS LTD" in red letters, as well as the GE logo. The indication "MADE IN CANADA" is also visible on the tube. The object has a classic vacuum tube shape, with five metal pins visible at the base, typical of radio or audio tubes from that period.

The tube's finish is glossy, with no chips or cracks visible on the exposed side. The well-preserved box shows some minor wear on the bottom, without significant damage to the graphics. The set offers a beautiful presentation for an old electronic component, ideal for display in a showcase or as a replacement part for a vintage device.

The set is distinguished by the contrast of the bright colors of the box and the technical aspect of the tube. No additional accessories are visible in the photo, and only the front of the box is shown. The internal technical inscriptions on the tube are not fully legible in this image.

Condition

Used item, sold as is, untested. Minor signs of wear on the bottom of the box. The tube shows no visible defects on the side shown.

Did you know? Electronic tubes like General Electric's Radiotron were widely used in radio receivers, amplifiers, and professional equipment from the 1930s to the 1960s. The term "Radiotron" was a trademark initially registered by RCA, then used by other manufacturers under license. These components marked the golden age of radio and high fidelity before the advent of the transistor.
