Authentic handwritten letter from the 1939-1945 period, written in blue ink on two separate pages, visible in the photo. This period document is distinguished by dense cursive writing, spread over rectangular cream-toned sheets, typical of paper used during World War II. The handwritten lines cover almost the entire surface of each page, reflecting a personal and sustained epistolary exchange.

The heading on the first page indicates the date "Friday, April 5, 1945," providing a precise temporal reference to the letter's historical context. The sender addresses his wife, which is confirmed from the first words: "Hello Darling…". The correspondence is structured in paragraphs, with regular, slightly slanted writing, characteristic of mid-20th century calligraphy.

The back of the second sheet features a printed header line "MARBRERIE DU NORD" (Northern Marble Works), suggesting the use of professional letterhead paper repurposed for private correspondence, a common practice during wartime due to economy. This particularity gives the whole an additional documentary interest, illustrating the material constraints of the time.

The handwritten text is clearly legible on the visible part, with some underlined or emphasized passages, reflecting the emotional intensity of the exchange.
