Description

Old handwritten letter or administrative act from the early 19th century, pencil-dated at the top 15.3.1814. The document features regular cursive handwriting in brown ink, organized in horizontal lines with inventory notes, family names, and household references.

The text notably concerns the Colombet family and describes an inventory of effects, furniture, silverware, deeds, and papers. Several rooms or areas of the house are detailed, with domestic terminology characteristic of administrative and notarial acts of the period.

A printed tax stamp of 75 centimes appears on the upper part, accompanied by an allegorical design. The document also includes handwritten signatures at the end of the act, with large ink flourishes.

Context

Dated 1814, this document falls within the administrative and notarial practices of the early 19th century, a period during which post-mortem inventories, family divisions, and descriptive statements of assets were meticulously drawn up. This type of writing constitutes a material testimony to civil life, patrimonial management, and domestic vocabulary under the nascent Restoration.

Condition

Used antique document, sold as-is. Yellowed paper with natural patina, usage folds, small marks, slight foxing, and irregular edges consistent with age and handling. The writing remains largely legible, with some areas paler or less distinct depending on folds and inking.
