Description

Authentic handwritten letter dated June 19, 1895, written in Paris, presented open on a wooden table in a period setting with a bookshelf in the background. The document, visible as a double-page spread, consists of two joined sheets, folded in the center, featuring handwritten blue-black ink on cream paper slightly yellowed by time. The text occupies most of both pages, with a cursive script typical of the late 19th century.

The letter begins with "Paris ce 19 juin 1895" (Paris this 19th June 1895) at the top right of the right page, followed by the salutation "Mon cher Nieu..." (name difficult to decipher), and addresses visible themes related to health, friendly affection, and personal concerns. The writing, regular and slanted, demonstrates the particular care given to correspondence at that time.

The surface of the paper shows a slight patina, with some fold marks in the center and on the edges, indicating its age and use. No decorative elements or illustrations are visible; the layout remains simple and elegant, true to the epistolary style of the Belle Époque.

The document is photographed in a warm ambiance, highlighting the letter's vintage character, with natural shades of brown and cream. The grain of the paper and the fineness of the ink lines are discernible, without any major stains or apparent tears on the exposed side.

The letter is characterized by its authenticity, its handwritten content evoking tenderness, health concerns, and friendship, and its overall well-preserved condition for a document over a century old.

Condition

Used letter, sold as is. Slight signs of age visible (yellowing, folds), no major apparent defects on the visible side.

Did you know?
