Old handwritten letter 1932 interwar period blue ink
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Old handwritten letter dated 1932, written in blue ink on a thin sheet of paper, visible in the photo. The document features elegant and regular cursive handwriting, typical of the interwar period, with an address at the top of the page: "La Paroisse d'Hélais" and a handwritten date "2.8.32" in the upper left. The text begins with "Mon cher Paul," and continues across the entire page, suggesting a personal correspondence addressed to a child or a loved one, as the tone of the text implies. No official letterhead or watermark is visible on this side.
The paper has a slightly ivory or light gray tint, with noticeable signs of wear on the left border: tears, missing pieces, and blunted corners, testifying to its age and handling over the decades. The sheet is placed on a wooden surface, next to several old books, which highlights its authentic and historical character.
The entire text is entirely handwritten, with no printed elements or illustrations. The blue ink is clearly visible, without significant fading, and the contrast with the paper remains satisfactory for direct reading. The letter appears to be written on one visible side; no verso or other page is shown in the image.
The calligraphy is neat, with the characteristic thick and thin strokes of French school handwriting from the early 20th century. Some passages of the text are legible, notably: "Mon cher Paul, Je te fais ici trois l'adresse...", which confirms the personal and familial nature of the correspondence.
Condition
Used letter, sold as is. Marked wear present on the left border (tears, folded corners, small missing pieces of paper). The ink is still very legible, the paper remains flexible despite its age. See photo for a faithful overview of the general condition.
Did you know? Handwritten letters from the interwar period are valuable testimonies to daily life, family ties, and modes of expression from that era.
