This item is an old handwritten letter, dated Monday, July 5, 1948, addressed to a mother. The document is written in blue ink on a cream-white sheet of paper, with a central horizontal fold. The neat, cursive handwriting covers both the main page and the margins, indicating a personal and intimate post-war correspondence.

The letter is distinguished by the density of its text, with the sender also using the left margin and upper part to add words, demonstrating a desire to maximize available space. The main text begins with "Chère maman," (Dear Mom,) and evokes a daily life marked by loneliness, references to nature, and the anticipation of a certain mail or visit.

In the upper right corner, the full date "lundi 5 juillet 48" (Monday, July 5, 48) is visible, along with a partial address "106, des rosi..." (the rest of the street name is not visible). The blue ink is slightly faded in places, but overall well-preserved for the period. No logo, stamp, or official mark is present on the visible side.

The paper has a smooth appearance, typical of correspondence from the late 1940s. The letter is placed on a dark wooden table, accompanied by an old inkwell visible in the background, which emphasizes the contemporary writing context.
