Old handwritten letter THE PROTECTRICE 1939-1945 WWII letterhead paper
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Period handwritten letter, written on letterhead from the insurance company "LA PROTECTRICE" (Compagnie Anonyme d'Assurances à Primes Fixes, Paris IXe, 45-47 Rue de Châteaudun). The document is presented open, revealing the entire front side, covered with handwritten ink. The typographic letterhead, in the upper left, mentions the company and its address in Paris, as well as the risks covered (accidents, fire, other risks). The entire handwritten text occupies almost the entire visible page, with slanted cursive writing, typical of the first half of the 20th century.
The paper has an ivory or off-white hue, with a slight age-related patina, without vivid coloration or illustration. The layout reflects an administrative or private use, common during the 1939-1945 period. The professional setting of the letterhead and the density of the handwritten text, which also extends into the vertical margin on the left, are clearly distinguishable. No stamp, seal or handwritten annotation on the back is visible in this photograph.
The letter is placed on a dark wooden desk, in an authentic atmosphere, with old books in the background reinforcing the archival feel. No decorative or postal elements appear on the visible side, which highlights the strictly epistolary and administrative nature of the document.
The handwritten text, although dense, remains legible in places; several passages deal with personal or professional subjects, probably related to the context of the Second World War. Some slight marks of handling or aging are visible, particularly a slight buckling of the paper, but no major tears or stains appear on the presented side.
