Description

Illustrated letter visible in the image, issued for a First Day Cover (FDC) in homage to Gabriel Fauré, a French composer. The envelope features a dedicated design, with a stylized portrait of Gabriel Fauré accompanied by two dates, 1845 and 1924, corresponding to his birth and death. The printed vignette highlights decorative elements, including a lyre and a musical scene, in dominant black, purple, and beige tones with touches of red.

In the upper left, the mention "PREMIER JOUR D'ÉMISSION" (First Day of Issue) is visible, followed by the number 572 and the indication "HISTORIQUE F.D.C." Two round postmarks are affixed to the visible side, both marked "1845 - GABRIEL FAURÉ - 1924" and "PREMIER JOUR" (First Day) with the city "PAMIERS" (the composer's birthplace), dated "25 JUIN 1966" (June 25, 1966). The postmark's visual features Fauré's portrait. A blue "Premier Jour" stamp is also visible in the bottom left.

The envelope is protected in a transparent plastic film, suggesting careful preservation. The item is placed on a light wooden surface. A small handwritten insert "10F" is affixed to the visible part, probably an old price tag.

The printed text at the bottom of the envelope states: "Gabriel Fauré — compositeur français" (Gabriel Fauré — French composer). The ensemble is typical of commemorative philatelic envelopes issued for major postal events.
