Lot of 2 vintage Prym pin boxes, steel brass, imported from Germany, sewing
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This lot consists of two old pin boxes from the German brand Prym, visible in the photo. Each rectangular box has a translucent, predominantly yellow casing, revealing the pins inside. The inscriptions "Prym ACIER" and "Prym LAITON" are clearly legible in blue on each lid, accompanied by the mention "IMPORTÉ D’ALLEMAGNE" (IMPORTED FROM GERMANY) on the right side of each face. The set displays a typical presentation of haberdashery items from the mid to late 20th century, with a simple and functional design, prioritizing the visibility of the contents thanks to the transparency of the plastic.
The upper box contains hairpins or sewing pins made of steel, recognizable by their dark appearance and their thin, elongated shape, while the lower box contains similar pins, this time made of brass, with a lighter appearance. The boxes are stacked in the photo, allowing a good view of their front faces and part of their profile. Both boxes have a smooth, slightly shiny surface, typical of vintage haberdashery containers.
The inscriptions are clear and show a sober industrial graphic design, characteristic of European products from the 60s to 80s. The Prym brand is a historical reference in the field of sewing accessories, known for the quality and reliability of its items for several decades. The set suggests a use for sewing, haberdashery, or textile crafts.
The boxes appear to be in good general condition based on the visible face, with some superficial traces or dust on the plastic, but no apparent structural defect. The pins inside seem to be in place, well-arranged, and the transparency of the plastic allows the contents to be appreciated without opening the box.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The boxes show signs of use consistent with their age, visible on the plastic surface (light marks or dust). The inscriptions remain clearly legible.
Did you know? The Prym company, founded in Germany in the early 19th century, is one of the oldest manufacturers of sewing accessories in the world. Its logo and distinctive packaging have remained almost unchanged since the 1960s, making it an iconic brand for vintage haberdashery enthusiasts.
