Lot of vintage Japanese erasers Rockman Makai Mura SD Gundam manga anime
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This lot includes four vintage Japanese erasers, illustrated with designs inspired by iconic anime and video games. On the visible side, each eraser features colorful packaging with illustrations faithful to the 80s-90s manga and gaming universes. Two erasers feature characters from the SD Gundam series, recognizable by their stylized armor and the vibrant palette of blue, red, gold, and white. One eraser highlights the hero of Rockman 5 (a franchise known as Mega Man in the West), identifiable by his blue helmet and the inscription "ROCKMAN 5" on a green and red background. The fourth eraser displays an armored knight on a yellow and black background, with the title "Makai Mura," corresponding to the cult game "Ghosts 'n Goblins."
The visible sides of the erasers show clear illustrations, typical of official Japanese licenses from that era, with retro graphic details and quality printing on the packaging. The colors are bold: blue, red, green, purple, yellow, black, and white, with some metallic effects on the drawn armor. The designs directly evoke the vintage manga and video game aesthetic, with clearly legible Japanese and Western lettering ("ROCKMAN 5", "MAKAIMURA").
Each eraser is presented in its original packaging, which completely covers the body of the eraser on the visible side. The illustration elements appear intact, without major signs of wear on the visible part, although slight handling marks are noticeable on the corners of some packaging (particularly the SD Gundam eraser in the upper left, slightly creased on the right edge).
The illustrations on the two SD Gundam erasers show samurai robots in dynamic poses, one predominantly blue and the other predominantly gold and red, surrounded by manga-style effects. The ensemble exudes a retro aesthetic faithful to the universe of Japanese toys and stationery from the 80s-90s, highly sought after for its visual authenticity.
Visible inscriptions include: "ROCKMAN 5", "MAKAIMURA", as well as Japanese characters specific to the licenses. No other text is legible on the visible sides.
