Description
This martial arts magazine, titled BUSHIDO – The Martial Arts Magazine, features a visually striking cover dominated by a vibrant red background. The title "BUSHIDO" appears in thick white letters, accompanied by Japanese characters in the upper right corner. Immediately below the title, "The Martial Arts Magazine" is clearly legible on a darker red horizontal band.
The cover showcases a large color photograph of a female karate practitioner in a white kimono (keikogi) with a black belt, striking a dynamic punching pose. On the left, several article titles are printed in white and yellow, including: "Karate World Cup," "Japanese Supremacy? French and Japanese respond...", "Seppuku," and "Exclusive - M° Nocquet and Tamura reunited, color photos of M° Ueshiba."
In the lower left corner, a secondary photo shows two men in white keikogi, sitting in seiza, in front of a black and white portrait of a Japanese master (likely Morihei Ueshiba, founder of Aikido) against a wooded background. A vertical band on the left side contains the visible reference: "35.00 F FS 5000 L M 7248-18FF."
The layout, typical graphics, and general condition (rubbed corners, slight creases, signs of wear on the cover) indicate that it is an old edition, probably from the 1980s or 1990s, consistent with the aesthetic and style of specialized press from that period.
Condition
Used magazine, sold as is. Shows signs of wear, dulled corners, small creases, and handling marks on the cover, typical of an old copy. Please examine the photo carefully for the exact condition of the front cover.
Did you know? The magazine "Bushido" was one of the main French-language journals dedicated to Japanese martial arts in the 1970s-1990s, offering features on karate, judo, aikido, as well as interviews with international masters and analyses of Japanese martial culture.
