Description
This lot corresponds to an old issue of the magazine "AVIATION – Magazine de l’air," as clearly indicated by the cover visible in the photo. The front cover features a color photographic visual showing a fighter jet taking off from an aircraft carrier, visually identified as a Grumman F-14 Tomcat (or similar family) type aircraft, typical of American military aviation of the 1960s-1970s. The main title of this issue focuses on "The French Solar Thruster – SEPR Phaéton," highlighting a French aeronautical technical innovation of the time.

The cover design, with its yellow banner "AVIATION Magazine de l’air" in the upper left, reflects a graphic aesthetic characteristic of the 1960s. The dominant sky blue, associated with the aircraft visual and the sober typography, immediately evokes the vintage aeronautical world. To the right of the cover, there is a white insert with the magazine number (No. 345), the date "15 AVRIL 1967," as well as the original price (2 NF for France, prices in Belgian and Swiss francs also indicated).

The magazine is printed on soft paper, with a staple binding visible on the left edge, typical of specialized press of this period. The cover shows slight signs of use and handling, including some creases and marks at the corners, as well as a beginning of patina on the edge, testifying to its age and authenticity. The magazine is photographed upright, on a wooden surface, in front of an old bookshelf, which highlights its retro and documentary aspect.

Among the featured topics, in addition to the report on solar propulsion, this issue probably offers in-depth articles, technical reports, and aeronautical news, as was customary in this type of specialized publication. The cover photo emphasizes the power and modernity of military aviation of the time.

The main legible inscriptions are:
– "AVIATION Magazine de l’air" (yellow banner)
– "In this issue: The French Solar Thruster – SEPR Phaéton"
– No. 345 – APRIL 15, 1967 – 2 NF (France) – 2.28 FB (Belgium) – 2.49 FS (Switzerland)

Condition
Used magazine, sold as is. The cover shows signs of use, creases, and patina consistent with a vintage copy. No apparent restoration or modification on the visible side.

Did you know? The SEPR Phaéton, mentioned on the cover of this issue, was an experimental thruster project developed in France in the 1960s, intended to explore hybrid and solar propulsion for aviation. This type of innovation testified to the intense research conducted during this decade to improve the performance and autonomy of civil and military aircraft.
